THEOLOGY AND SPIRITUALITY

In the Diary of St.Faustina Kowalska, Lord Jesus granted her a vision of a new congregation which he wanted her to start, This would consist of three different branches with three different functions, yet having the same goal.

"The first is that souls separated from the world will burn as an offering before God's throne and beg for mercy for the whole world... and by their entreaties they will obtain blessings for priests, and through their prayers prepare the world for the final coming of Jesus.

The second is prayer joined to the act of mercy. In particular, they will defend the souls of children against the spirit of evil. Prayer and merciful deeds are all that will be required of these souls, and even the poorest persons can be admitted to their number. And in this egoistic world they will try to rouse up love, the mercy of Jesus.

The third is prayer and deeds of mercy, without any obligation of taking vows. But by doing this, these persons will have a share in all the merits and privileges of the whole [congregation]. Everyone in the world can belong to this group.

A member of this group ought to perform at least one act of mercy a day; at least one, but there can be many more, for such deeds can easily be carried out by anyone, even the very poorest. For there are three ways of performing an act of mercy: the merciful word, by forgiving and by comforting; secondly, if you can offer no word, then pray - that too is mercy; and thirdly, deeds of mercy. And when the Last Day comes, we shall be judged according to this, and on this basis we shall receive the eternal verdict." (Diary 1155-1158)

This inspiration of starting a new Congregation was not carried out by St.Faustina, however the Holy spirit got it started through F.B.A.

Biblical Foundations.

God´s wonderful promises for the poor in the scriptures are found fulfilled through F.B.A services.

"They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry have ceased to hunger" (1 Samuel 2:5)

"He raises up the poor out of the dust, He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory; For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's, And he has set the world upon them" (1 Samuel 2:8)

"Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame. And the servant said, Lord, what thou didst command is done, and yet there is room. And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and constrain them to come in, that my house may be filled." (Luke 14:21-23)

"And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last." (Luke 13:30)

All these are very revolutionary and shocking promises of Jesus. The fulfillment of these promises are seen in the service of the F.B.A.

The scriptural and theological basis of F.B.A´s foundation is "The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all. This was done by the Lord"(Matthew 21:42) The dying destitutes on the streets are the stones rejected by our society as USELESS. HOW CAN THESE USELESS STONES BE THE CORNER STONES?

It is the cornerstone which supports the other stones in the building. The so called useless creatures, later rehabilitated in the F.B.A ashrams are trained for a life of ceaseless prayer before the blessed sacrament, praying for the different categories of people in the world like the Anointed servants (Pope, cardinals, bishops, priests and religious), Religious congregations, people who are caught up in different problems, the hard hearted sinners, our benefactors, the people who ask for prayer help, for the souls in purgatory, etc., In this way these souls support everyone in their pilgrimage towards heaven. Thus in God's kingdom they will be considered the cornerstones.
